Replacing Secura Boards within chasis

  1. Identify which board we are removing
    1. Reference charts, maps, graphs
    2. Use software tool to flash front LED
    3. Run pings to device and unplug poe, if ping replies stop, that is the correct board
  2. Unplug cords
    1.  Fan power
    2.  HDMI, usb, 3.5mm audio jack
    3.  Cat5
  3. Pull chasis from rack
  4. Remove screws on chasis lid

5. Remove the lid

6. Identify the board position

  • bottom to top
  • front to back
  • left to right

7. Remove screws holding main board and led board in place

8. Take note of where things are plugged in, specifically the HDMI cord.  The port closest to the Ethernet is the HDMI output, and the port furthest from the Ethernet port is the HDMI input . Be careful when unplugging and re-plugging the led board connector. The pins inside are prone to bending. See the second picture in this section for reference to this.

9. Disconnect the cables and remove the board. If the board you are removing is a bottom board, this process needs to be repeated. The process is the same, but the screws are now spacers, and the board is positioned 'upside down'.

10. If not replacing the LED board, the LED board can be transferred to the new secura board. The ribbon connectors and latched and unlatched by pulling up and down.Take note of which side the metal connectors of the ribbon are on when reattaching it.

10. Assembly is reverse of disassembly

The board should already be pre-provisioned with the correct  ip address from PESA, and should come online in place of the old board
